Using a tinctures for a dietary supplement is often new to many people, and we receive questions about proper dosing of CBD.
It would seem that using a dropper with markings on it to show the number of millilitres of liquid present in the dropper would make dosing easier. This type of dropper is called a graduated dropper or graduated pipette. We agree here at RYTE, but sourcing a safe reliable graduated dropper is not easy. On our quest for a graduated dropper, we found it difficult to find a dropper that met our high quality standards that was also safe for our brand. Recently, a CBD brand performed a voluntary recall of their oil because high levels of lead were found in the product. The source of the lead, according to the company, was the paint on the graduated dropper that subsequently leached into the oil.
At RYTE we have a sourcing program for our hemp, MCT oil and packaging. Only high-quality suppliers that can meet our requirements are used in our supply chain. That means we require proof that the bottle and the dropper are safe and free of contaminants that could impact our oil.
We will continue our quest for a safe graduated dropper to make it easier for our customers to dose CBD. In the meantime, there are many resources for determining your dose. The recommendation is always to start low and go slow.
