Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a natural compound that, until recently, has been relatively understudied — and, undervalued. And as we shared in our recent post on the history of CBD, the potential health benefits of CBD have only recently begun to be studied.
We have much to learn, but today, we do know that the body has its own built-in endocannabinoid system filled with molecules that look and act very similarly to the cannabis molecules found in plants. This bodily system’s main function is to maintain stasis, keeping the body and its various parts & functions in balance despite environmental changes. Scientists have located cannabinoid receptors in the brain, nervous system, skin, immune system, skeletal system, muscles, heart, and gastrointestinal tract.
While we await further information about the potential benefits and uses of CBD from current and new research, we can take an empirical look at the many ways in which real, daily and active CBD users experience the oil in their daily lives.
